August Book Club

Dancing on Broken Glass- My pick

I loved this book! I think I enjoyed it so much because I could really relate to it. I mean I've lived with bipolar disorder pretty much my whole life. It is a tear-jerker, so if you aren't a fan of books that make you cry don't read this one. But I would definitely recommend it.
We took a few months off for the summertime, but yay I'm so glad to be having book club again.

24th of July

We had a really fun 24th this year. At my work they let us dress in western wear the day before, which means we could wear jeans. I jumped right on that found my best button up shirt and a red bandanna and threw my jeans on. Also on the day before we went to the drive in it was so much fun! We saw Despicable Me 2 and RIPD. Despicable Me was so cute, RIPD was alright but not the greatest movie we've ever seen. Then on the 24th we went to the Bees game, they won so that made it more fun and after the game they had a firework show. I was really impressed by it, we had great seats. We love baseball games! Then on that Friday we went to my Mom's house for a BBQ, my sister's family was there too. It's always nice to see everyone. And then Paul did the most awesome home firework show I have ever seen. So our 24th was great this year.

June Book Club

The Forgotten Garden- Grandma Sharon's pick

Even though we didn't meet to talk about this book I liked it so much that I still wanted to do a post for it. I really enjoyed The Forgotten Garden it drew me in right from the beginning, and kept my attention all through out. It's written in four different time periods so it jumps back and forth from one year to another, which made it very entertaining. It also has some twists and turns that you don't expect so that also makes for an enjoyable book as well. I would highly recommend this book I really liked it.

Motivation

I told myself I needed to lose weight and I'm actually sticking to it and doing it. If you know me I'm usually just talk and no action when it comes to my weight. All I've really been doing is eating better and drinking lots of water. But it's been about six weeks and I've lost 6lbs. So a pound a week that's not great but better than nothing. I can already tell a difference in the way my pants are fitting.
YAY for me!!! I'm pretty proud of myself (if you couldn't already tell.)

Let freedom ring

Like I've said before The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. We had so many fun traditions that we did when I was growing up. And new traditions that David and I are starting as well.
A few night before the 4th we went with my mom and her husband to see the Taylorsville fireworks. It was a lot of fun. And then on the 4th we went to the Magna parade. Madie's dance studio was in the parade so she got to be in the parade this year. Stockton loved getting all the candy that they would throw to the crowd, and he got a lot of candy. Little Ainsley looked so cute in her little 4th of July outfit. But she didn't like the big cars that would go by and honk their horns, poor little girl. After the parade we hung out with my dad, my sister and her kids for a little while. David wasn't feeling very good though so we went home pretty early and went right to bed so we didn't go to fireworks that night. I did see some out of our front window but it wasn't quite the same. We'll just wait for next year.

Madie waved right as I took the picture.
