Our updated living room

David's parents are turning their front room into an office therefore they had couches that they needed to get rid of. Lucky for us they asked if we could use them and of course we said yes! They came down last week to bring them to us. The couches look so nice it really dresses up our living room. There was also some pictures they bought that match the set perfectly that they gave to us as well. I am so glad they thought of us, thanks Dave and Natalie.

I wish I were a chef

To start off this post I need to start by saying I'm no chef (but secretly I wish I were). I am becoming a better cook than when we first got married. Sometimes when I'm preparing a meal I like to think I'm on a TV cooking show. For one of my bridal showers my sister had everyone include their favorite recipe for me. I really liked that and now I've been able to make things I wouldn't have ever tried. I'm always looking for fun new recipes to try. So if anyone reading has any good recipes they'd like to share please send them my way. Some of my favorite recipe blogs to look at are Six Sisters Stuff  Alexandra Cooks  Mother Thyme  Skinny Taste  Closet Cooking  Recipe Girl  Taste and Tell. These blogs are always giving me great new ideas and make me want to be a better chef.

Game night

I just need to say that I love playing games. David and I have lately been playing a lot of games. It's what we've been doing for FHE the past few weeks and just other nights as well instead of watching TV all the time. It's been a lot of fun, the only thing is we only have a few options to choose from cause there aren't a whole lot of games to play with just two people. I think we need to get together with some friends for a game night so we can have a bigger variety of games to play. Some of our favorite games to play are Scrabble, Sequence, Yahtzee and I just tought David how to play Chess. David is really smart though and thinks about things that I don't so some of the games there is no question who the winner is going to be. Hopefully we can get some more games to add to our collection. And if anyone has a favorite game or a good recommendation of something you like to play let us know.

My fun Christmas gift

David gave me the greatest gift for Christmas, a jewelry armoire. Before I had it in four different places cause I couldn't fit it all in my old jewelry box. Now I can get all my jewelry to fit in one place it's so nice. It's much better because it's all on display and I can see everything I have. When i was filling it up I found all this stuff I had forgotten about I'm so excited to wear it all. I love accessories jewelry, shoes, purses you name it, so this was a perfect gift for me. Thanks Babe.

From a full to a queen

We got a new bed last week....yay! This past year we have been sleeping on my old full size bed (or as David's brother called it our "friendly bed"). I had that bed for about eight years. It was great when I first got it, and when I was the only one sleeping in it. But for sure it had seen better days and the middle was starting to sink in a little. This new mattress is great though; but the first night I did have a hard time sleeping in it. I'm not really sure why, its a great bed.  Its getting better though. David is sleeping great he has told me several times that his back already feels much better. And he is snoring again, he snored like this when we first got married but I just got used to it. Good thing I still had some ear plugs-they work great! That's a good sign though it means he is sleeping well. It was definitely time for an upgrade. My second favorite thing about it is that we got to get a new comforter set and I must say its super cute. My favorite part was that we saved $150.00. Yay for savings! It was only supposed to be $100.00 but they did their math wrong. Is it bad that I knew and didn't tell them? OK picture time

Good bye old bed. I'll miss you, OK no I won't

They lay out a red carpet when they deliver it. Well they are delivering a Queen.

They even leave you mints on the bed. I thought it was cute.

We moved our furniture around the room - it feels so much bigger now.

I love this, its much more grown up than what we had before.
Of course the decorative pillows that we don't use.

Craft time

This is my 4th of July wreath I made last year. The great thing about it was it was free (sort of). My sister gave me the wreath to use, plus she had a whole box of buttons that I used as my stars. Then we went over to my Grandma's and raided her collection of yarn that she's had forever. It was super easy to make and fun to do.

This is an iron on shirt I did it was also super easy and very inexpensive. The fun thing about the shirt is that it changes color in the sun...way cool if you ask me.

Viola the shirt is done
This is a preview of a project I'm working on now. I'm making it for my new little niece who will be here in October. So exciting I love babies.

My mess of a room...

So today was my day off and I decided to be productive. And I cleaned my room. Since this is a very rare occasion I thought I would take pictures and write about it to prove that this actually happened.

Here are the befores and afters I must say I am very proud of my work here.
